When looking at our selection of objects from the David Usborne collection we noticed how obscure they all really are but felt like we had seen them all somewhere else before. That somewhere was films. The movies of the past specifically 'Sci-Fi' were very clever when using the modern objects of the time to make them futruistic and something from space. We only had this thought purely from popular culture, which is a piece of evidence that Science Fiction films are truly these influential creations that shift perceptions of reality. The reinforced glove used to gut fish is one of these useful tools of the past that could be the glove of a space cadet. 'Alien' the 1970s Sci-Fi thriller used loads of objects and modified them to seem like something from centurys into the future.
