With the choice of '79 short essays about design', the overwhelming information from each one I read meant it was difficult to stick to one idea and one short essay. So many could be visualised through an editorial piece, however one that came to focus was ' The Whole Damn Bus is Cheering', written for Design Observer in 2004. The essay writes off the symbolic ribbon for causes and how theres so many and how horrible the symbol is as a piece of design. The main focus is the yellow ribbon and takes reference to the hit 70s song 'Tie a yellow ribbon' performed by Tony Orlando and Dawn.
Im thinking of taking this witty aproached with retro colours and an impactful photograph for the front cover.
